Title Perspective View - Columbia Basin Project
Scope & Content Black and white postcard of map of Columbia Basin Project in Washington. Map shows portion of Washington state with the Columbia Basin Project highlighted. The image of Washington is shown with north at the bottom of card looking south. Town names, bodies of water, Yakima Irrigation Project, and Grand Coulee Dam are named. "Perspective View - Columbia Basin Project" and "Pub by Ellis / 1942" in white lettering along top edge of postcard. Reverse of card on proper left side: "COLUMBIA BASIN PROJECT / This perspective view shows the relation of / Grand Coulee dam to the proposed irrigation / project which will bring life giving water to / 1,200,000 acres of fertile but arid desert land. / Here is planned one of the most productive / agricultural areas on the continent." Center of card on reverse has "J. Boyd Ellis. ARLINGTON, WASHINGTON" printed vertically. "Post Card" in proper upper right hand corner on reverse. Proper upper right hand corner has "#98 6-" written in pencil. Reverse of postcard has no stamp, address, or correspondence.
