Postcard is of a street scene in Moses Lake, WA. Image of dirt/gravel road with 1940s automobiles parked on both sides, buildings, stop light with person crossing road and telephone poles in background. Buildings in image are Moses Lake Hardware, Moses Lake Garage, a Jewelry Store, two Cafes, Shell, a Gas Station and Norge. Image appears to be Broadway Avenue.
Cancelled green 1 cent George Washington stamp in proper upper right hand corner on reverse. Postmark is "ELLENSBURG, WASH / JUL 6 / 12 - M / 1948" and is near stamp on reverse. Reverse of card: "POST CARD / CORRESPONDENCE ADDRESS" printed on top half of postcard. "Monday July 5 - Moses Lake, Wash. / Dear Buz: / This is where we / are spending the nite. It's / raining again. We saw / long wheat fields out here / on each side of the road. / The climbing roses are / blooming too. Saw some / peonies & bleeding heart. / Some pretty flat country out here too. Love Alma xxx" is handwritten in cursive in blue ink on correspondence side on reverse of postcard. "Buz Thompson / 1119 Linwood Ave. / S.W. / Canton 4 Ohio." is handwritten in cursive in blue ink on address side on reverse of postcard.
