Moved to Washington in 1901. Used irrigation to devlp the first orchard in the Wenatchee, WA area. Was promoter of the Grand Coulee Dam. Returned to live in Jackson, MN where he remained for three years before going to Neppel (Moses Lake), WA.
Buried in Stratford Cemetery, Stratford, WA.
Lewis Horn in Moses Lake, WA named for C. Lewis. He planted a 2,000 tree orchard in Cascade Valley, irrigated by a steam boiler pump. Tichacek and Sons purchased the orchard from Lewis.
In Grant County Journal on 07/28/1911: "Our next stop...to Tichacek ranch...120 acres...40-acre orchard...unequaled anywhere in Washingon."
In Grant County Journal on 08/04/1911: "Charles Tichacek has placed an order for 8000 fruit boxes."
In Grant County Journal on 05/28/1912: "Chas. Tichacek...confirmed the report of the sale of his 120 acre ranch on Moses Lake...for $65,000.000.
