Name Rock Island
Details This large rock island in the Columbia River is nine miles southeast of Wenatchee, between Douglas and Chelan counties, WA. The name was given long before the construction of Rock Island Dam. In 1881, Lieut. Thomas W. Symons named the adjoining rough waters Rock Island Rapids.
