Name Vantage
Details Vantage, WA is a community on west bank of the Columbia River twenty-five miles east of Ellensburg in southeastern Kittitas County. A ferry across the Columbia River was established by W. D. Van Slyke in pioneer days. A bridge replaced the ferry. Flooding by the Wanapum Dam at Priest Rapids caused a change in the location of this town. The name given to this point is presumed to be in recognition of the fact that this has always been a vantage point for crossing the river.
