Photo: Group 8 No. 58: "Under the stark oaks on cold House Heaven Platue were we found Pe-ha-hai, the 1st root or bitterroot. It took 3 days to gather enough Pe-ha-hai, Sakiwa Maumon, Puksla, Punco etc. (1st time samples have been collected for classification). Under the stark oaks we dig the Rock Rose of the Scab Rocks-Pe-ha-hai or Yakima name or Spel-lein at Nespelem. I have the latin names at home I can send them over this falll of all these age old food roots."
